I'm wanting to buy a sound card that has 4 xlr's in, so I'm wanting to get an Audient ID44, as I can't afford the UA Apollo x4 or any other sound card around that mount. I want to make sure I'm only using my Reflex M pre-amp and not the pre-amp on the sound card. I emailed Audient asking if I can turn off their pre-amp and they replied back saying "There is no direct way of completely bypassing the pre-amp. However, if you have the gain knob turned all the way down you shouldn't have any issues due to the low noise floor." So for recording my vinyl do you think this would be acceptable, or should I only look for a sound card that I can disable their pre-amps? ~Gary Edited by garygillespie - 15 Sep 2020 at 8:29pm |
