your right, my local hifi shop only really has the normal Rega stuff and some very high expensive options, and is missing this middle ground.

I would consider the upgrade to either Revelation (which I own) or Accession to be worthy. Because having an equaliser with different option is an absolute must in any system, especially in a system having analogue record players. The recording equalisation is indeed very different with any record. And any equipment (speakers, headphones) and room acoustics is very different and requires fine tuning of equalisation to sound natural. I would suggest you listen to both (I have not heard the Accession) and choose the one with the sound you like most. The funcionality of Revelation seems richer, but you may not need that functionality with your setting. Try out! My Revelation (MM) sounds very revealing and natural, and it is my phono stage of choice. I am an old record collector.
