Dear All,
I’ve just spent a terrific Saturday afternoon listening to records and CD’s, alternately through my PMC speakers and Focal Elear headphones (Slee equipment list see below). I’m happy. Really happy. I’ve had most of my Slee equipment for years now (my first purchase in 2014) and I’m up to my neck in music listening and enjoyment. Zero desire to change or look for anything else. Music. That’s what I do now instead of doing “Hi-Fi”. How great is that!

I’m able to listen to any LP or CD and get to the heart of it, each one being laid bare from a technical aspect and presented such that I can revel in the musical intent. My system lets me marvel at the well recorded and mastered albums I own, and never ever exposes the bad recordings as unlistenable. I still end up enjoying the music.

An example? How about Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Widely acknowledged as one of the very worst loudness wars albums, I can listen to it and love the skill of the players, their musical invention and shared expression. Any album I have on oil crisis vinyl is obviously a little hollow sounding, but it all still grooves and is full of colour.

Thank you, Graham. Thank you for the music.
Mick
