I had the opportunity earlier this week to have a listen to the Accession MC + Enigma at a local dealer... my current setup is a Rega RP3 + Reflex M so this was an interesting step up from what I'm used to (tested with a Rega Planar 8 and the new Planar 10 with Apheta 3 cartridge).

My overriding impression was one of ease with which the music flowed and the lack of any sonic signature being applied to the presentation.  In contrast, when I compared it to Chord's new Huei phono stage, the Huei added a certain emphasis to the sound which might work well with a lesser TT but when accompanying the Planar 8 and certainly the Planar 10 just showed itself up as trying too hard.

The Accession in comparison was effortlessly musical.

I didn't get a chance to compare it with/without the Enigma, so would be interested in anyone's views if they've done this comparison themselves.

I couldn’t agree more on the Slee/Chord sound comparison. I use a Mojo for portable listening, and it’s fabulous. However, when I insert it as a DAC between source and Solo ULDE it’s shown up as really dry and closed in. When I use it between source and the analogue inputs on my Majestic DAC, it’s obviously really “tight” sounding.
In comparison, my Slee products are open, natural and flowing. You forget they are there.

Absolutely; I've got a Chord Qutest DAC which I found brought me closer to the music than the more staid approach of my Naim ND5 streamer, but it definitely applies a particular signature which I experienced again with the Huei phono stage... whereas the Accession simply opens up the soundstage and you can just float away with the music... very beguiling...
