I wondered if anyone here might be able to offer advice. The headband of my Sennheiser HD250 linear now needs replacing. That's the flexible padded band that sits on your head and moves up and down not the solid upper part. The pretend plastic leather has degraded to the point where it has become oddly sticky to touch. It have easily removed it but it is unusable. I wondered if anyone knows if you can get a replacement, or has successfully used another product. The HD520/530/540/560 had a similar band but the spares for those do not seem to be available either.

Ash reconditioned a lot of Sennhesiers including two he sold me. I think he mastered the repair and replacement of the 'pleather' and will share some trade secrets to help you Mike.

No, I was never able to properly re-condition the headband pad. You will have to part salvage from HD250II/HD540II/HD560II when they come up on Ebay. Alternatively, use the old one as a template to cut out a flexible piece of plastic and fabric then take them to a sewing machine. If you cut out the pieces, you may be able to ask a haberdashery shop to sew it together for you. HD560II uses an identical pad and is an excellent headphone in its own right.
