I just purchased a new RP6 and I noticed some vibration on one side of the platter. I initially thought that it was not seated correctly.  Vibrations and turntables are not a good combination.

I took the deck back to the dealer who assured me that this "characteristic" would not adversely affect performance.  Their demo unit exhibited similar behaviour.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris, can I confirm some vibration means it wobbles when rotating? It shouldn't IMO. If you take the platter off and then start the RP6, does the sub-platter behave like the platter?

Hi Chris

Jon is right, and "some vibration" needs clarification.
Is there any chance of some video showing the problem?

When I tap the platter around the edge, there is some vibration in one area of the platter. Previously I owned a Rega P5 which did not exhibit this behaviour.

Take it back and get a refund.
There's an obvious manufacturing issue.

I'd second Chris' advice.

yeah, it doesn’t sound right at all. Nothing like that on my RP8.
