I wonder if anyone can help?
I have purchased a new MacBook Air and have gone to pug my Bitzie in via the USB cable and nothing happens at all? With the old Windows 10 laptop, I just plugged the usb cable in and it played! VERY FRUSTRATING? Any ideas or is it silly Apple stuff blocking it? Thank you Steve P.S. Happy birthday Graham!!

Thank you for the reminder. It saves me working it out from my DOB... Yes, it's a bugger when things happen like that. You have my sympathies. I have a total lack of understanding of anything "Apple" but John C and Leo do, but are never around on the forum when needed... Can you fire off a contact form (https://www.hifisystemcomponents.com/services/contact-us.html) and you'll get straight through to John C. |

Many thanks as always Graham, will do that to John C in the morning.
I will raise a glass of the finest Belgian beer in honour of your birthday Graham, I hope that you are able to do the same whilst listening to some of the finest music that you can find! Try 'Space to Bakersfield' by Black Mountain if you want a treat....whatever it is, ENJOY!! Best wishes and thanks Steve

Computers can be a pain sometimes. I have found Macs to be pretty recalcitrant when it comes to USB DACs, they have a habit of ignoring them even if you have used them before. I have less trouble with my Bitzie than I used to have with other devices but it still doesn't register some times.
I am assuming that you are new to MacOS here so apologies if you have already done this but the thing to do is to open System Preferences (the icon is a big grey cog in a box), click on Sound, go to the Output tab and make sure that 'USB Audio CODEC' is selected on the list of devices. The Bitzie should work and it should automatically select it the next time you plug it in, but as I said before it might not. I have got into the habit of checking every time before I start playing music - probably not necessary but I get a bit OCD about these things.
