Hey everyone. Just joined a few days ago and have been lurking, and getting a loaner to audition a Era Gold V.
I am not an audiophile, per se, but am a huge music fan with a huge collection. I currently run a Rega RP-6 with an Exact cartridge, a Groovetracer upgraded subplatter/bearing, and a Funk Firm Achromat on the stock glass platter. It's a really nice combination that I hoping to make even nicer. So, that's my short introduction, would love to hear your thoughts on whatever you feel you'd like to suggest, etc. Cheers Christopher

Hi Christopher,
Welcome aboard! I bought my Reflex M when I still used an RP1 with Bias cartridge. It was the first purchase in my once-in-twenty-years upgrade, and i don’t regret it. I moved through Bias, Elys and Exact before a move across to Ortofon 2M Bronze and Black, and finally settling on the Apheta 2 (which necessitated the purchase of the Elevator EXP). At every stage, the Reflex M has produced the goods and I’ve never felt as though it was shortchanging the latest upgrade. I hope you find the same with your Era Gold experience! All the best, Mick. |

Thanks for joining us Christopher. I've got an Exact mounted on my Rega P3-24 which also had a subplatter (and platter) upgrade, it does a lot right with all kinds of music and a decent preamp brings the best out IMO.

Jon: do you use the Accession with your Exact 2 / P3-24? I noticed you have an Elevator, so I assume you have more than one TT.

Hi Christopher, I could use that setup but don't at the moment. I have accumulated got three main turntables including the Michell 'Gorbe' which has a MC cartridge on the arm and is the main one I use.
My P3-24 with Exact is in handy storage at the moment. I made various changes/upgrades so it isn't a stock unit anymore. Glad to help if I can so what can I help you with? |

Oh, I was just wondering if you had anything to say about that setup, assuming you had a MM on it and played it through the Accession. Doesn't sound like that's your setup though... :) No worries. Just trying to solicit feedback from folks with perhaps similar setups to mine.
