Record Store Day - April 22

Support your local merchants. Some nice collectables available on line.

Yes - best to support your local shops and music community in person as that is the true spirit of RSD.

So does that mean that Discogs doesn't count? I feel like they're the independent (and transparent) version of online record stores.

Unfortunately, there are not many "Record Stores" here in the US.
Most vinyl sales in the US are over the internet.
I have found a few really good stores on Amazon and E bay... both have a seller rating system.

That's a surprising comment Bruce - I love visiting US record stores whenever I'm there & the Vinyl Engine app on my phone throws up numerous shops by distance from my 'current' location'.

Discogs is great for tracking down specific titles but cannot replace the personal interaction you get with a friendly record store and its local community.

I agree that nothing can beat a community, but I recommend with Discogs sending a message to the "store" owners and the rating systems can be fun. Nothing compares to the previous sales metrics to see the value you're getting for your next purchase against market data. That I've yet to see at any record shop!
