Just to reassure you, we did this day with a pair of Proprius driving 83dB bookshelf speakers rated at 11 ohms, and so could only max out at 18 watts per channel. There were plenty of witnesses including the editor of What Hi-Fi. |

Crazy how Aylesbury is almost 6 years ago now - I feel so old. I still have some of the speaker room video footage somewhere.
The sound was very space-filling and we weren't sitting particularly close to the sound source. The Proprius aren't intended for nightclub volumes with building-shaking bass. If an application requires silly amounts of power, there is always the option of using more than one pair of Proprius, although no typical domestic environment would need it for power reasons.

With PMC Twenty5.22’s in my 6m x 6m room, I don’t get past 10 or 11 o’clock on my volume control before it really is too much on most recordings.
