I can't think why if Ortofon made a USC why they wouldn't recommend using fluid to clean their stylus, Did they recommend a fluid to use with it?
I also have VP but I don't use it offen as I like the clear jel of the Onzow as I can see the dirt better.

Perhaps a little beyond the scope of the original question, but I got my best cartridge from an estate sale. It had sat unused for decades in a tropical climate. Under microscope, the tip, cantilever, and suspension looked like a coral reef. I spent a week or two, couple hours a day, VERY lightly brushing with 100% isopropyl. Worth it, but I wouldn't want to have to do it again.
