Many years ago I was loaned several R**s A*****s mains cables and in spite of listening very carefully, I could not hear any difference between them and the ones that came with the Meridian CD-preamp-amps that I was using at the time. 

Having said that, I now use my own braid screened mains cables with IEC connectors, 'just-in-case' & mainly because of the various interconnects scrambled up with them behind my system. Everything sounds so good that I have no inclination to do anything more, although I remain open minded enough to listen if someone presented me with something to try out.
