Killed the first battery after 8 days. Let's say 3hrs (probably more if I'm honest) music per day, volume at 4 o'clock. Smack on with design estimates.
Can a PSU1 with a Voyager? |

The supplied adapter I included with your Voyager is 5V output whereas the Solo PSU1s supply 24V, I believe. So, the short answer is: No.
Also, some 9V batteries are manufactured better than others so may hold more charge. Edited by Ash - 06 Dec 2014 at 9:52pm |

Although I tend to advise against it, the tiny 9 volt Voyager regulator accepts up to 35 volts DC input. It will get quite warm if not quite hot because the voltage drop of 24-9 (using the PSU1) = 15V, and the current will be reaching its 100mA limit, and the device will be trying to dissipate 1.5 watts.
This is based on 32 Ohm headphones played at full output. Higher impedances will give it an easier time, and lower impedances... be very careful. |

Thanks for the replies. Safer not to use a PSU1 then :)

I have now used the Voyager in various roles:
- Straightforward Mobile Amp - Preamp for mobile through stereo amp - Headphone amp when connected on monitor line out on stereo amp - Line in for PC to digitise Vinyl Quite a versatile device too! :-) |
