Obviously a Technics clone... Another Super-OEM, or a serious contender for truly being the 1200/1210 heir?

The lack of USB and internal preamp surely is a good sign. Can't wait to hear about its build quality!

I too hope it isn't just another Audio Technica PL120.

"I installed a low output Adcom Cross-coil cartridge that I’d had rebuilt some time ago that was already installed on a compatible head shell, and while it usually sounds fast, detailed and perhaps slightly aggressive, installed in the AT-LP120 it too sunk into the soft but pleasant ooze. What accounts for this?"

Dear reviewer, you state "A MM phono preamplifier is built in, and can be disabled at the flip of rear-mounted switch allowing you to use your choice of phono preamplifiers" which is not entirely true in my experience of the pre-USB version, why?

Because the 47k input loading of the 120 is left in place, and is in parallel with your choice of phono preamplifier.

The cartridge load is therefore 23.5k and if you understand tank circuits, instead of providing the right damping it attenuates the highs.
