Directive on Batteries and Accumulators and Waste Batteries and Accumulators (2006/66/EC)

Yes that old devil the Holy Roman Empire AKA the European Union in today's speak has been at it again [personal opinion of this contributor].

This time however, we've slipped their net [well almost].

We fit Alkaline-Manganese Dioxide batteries to our only battery powered product, the Voyager headphone amp.

This is the very reason we didn't fit an accumulator or rechargeable battery. As NiMH batteries got very expensive indeed ahead of the legislation [refer to Mr Crab from Sponge Bob Square Pants movie...], our only option would have been to fit NiCd only to find the well-loved Voyager meeting the same fate as all those who opposed the Holy Roman Empire in days of yore [dead!].

What we will have to do to comply is add an instruction sheet showing how to remove the battery [even though it's blatantly obvious to a second old fetus!] and stick wheelie bin stickers 1cm x 1cm or larger to each battery showing its chemical composition, which is Zn/Mn02.

Quoting Gillette who make the batteries we use: disposal is with household trash.

And the mark of the beast we apply to all our products?

Well, "CE" of course!

Because every ardent reader of the Bible knows: "so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name" Rev 13:17

CE being EC [EU] backwards - satanic or what?

That none should be able to buy or sell without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

If you were to ship the amp w/o a battery would you still have to install a label?
