£225 and counting... Cry

If I didn't have 2 pairs already in good condition, I'm not sure what I would spend to replace now... especially given that I've built up quite a reserve of closed studio cans. Both sets that were acquired as direct HD250 reserves (DT150, SRH840) fail that challenge by a margin in the bass area, though both have more forward midranges, which is my main reservation about the HD250.

This week I am enjoying the DT250-250s. 100 hours+ now. They are a different beast.

Best

James

Maybe Sennheiser should take note regarding the price these cans are achieving. I was watching them with possibly bidding out of curiosity of what they are like considering the high regard they hold on this site. But, I'm afraid I'm not £225 curious.

We definitely have a 250/II following here! And why not?
My in ears are a compromise that I suggest is worth exploring if you use buses or trains. They are discrete and sound pretty good despite being tiny. They act like earplugs blocking external noise so allowing me to listen at moderate levels when travelling.

Something fishy going on here, the price has now dropped back to £78.11. Looks like one of the two sparring partners (e***e) has retracted all their bids. Were they outed as a shill bidder, I wonder? I don't suppose we'll ever know.

Normality, at least for the moment, seems to have been restored. Stern Smile

edit - This doesn't appear to be shilling - the seller has himself sought advice concerning the strange bidding pattern on eBay's Seller Central forum, here http://community.ebay.co.uk/topic/Seller-Central/Odd-Bidding/1700057122

Still went for £155. Not an outrageous price for what you get...

The search for a HD250 substitute still in production continues Ouch

Wow, I've only just read the HD250 desperation here. We need a few thousand people to contact Sennheiser about the discontinued HD250 and encourage them to bring back a HD250III. Big smile Although then they'd undercut their HD800... Wink
We do not see things as they are. We see things as we are.
