Out of the blue, I have ended up with 2 Leak Troughline tuners.

Not sure how to go about testing them yet ( well I know how by plugging them in, but will my ariel be good enuff and have I enuff leads? ) I'm not qualified or knowledgeable enough to service them.

If any one wants to make an offer for one them, please let me know !!!

Adrian.

Adrian,

You could try this guy, Keith Snook, he might help with both your issues.  Nice tuner by the way.

Tom

I had one of these years ago, a Troughline 3, brilliant stable stereo image and probably the best FM I've ever heard. They need a really good aerial to give a good signal, I had a huge 7 element aerial, but even that was not enough to get a decent signal after one of our house moves so it went!!
For servicing I understand One Thing Audio can help: http://www.onethingaudio.net/OTA/9152-OTA-MAIN.htm , also Graham Tricker used to service Troughlines, I think he now trades as GT Audio.
Good luck, if radio, particularly Radio 3, is of interest as a source it would be worthwhile, you'll have to look very hard for a better FM receiver.
