I have experimented more and found that the optimum setup for the Rega RB100 cartridge is to increase the input capacitance from 220pF to 320pF and set C5a and C5b at 1500pF. This lifts the treble enough so that it is nicely balanced without a peak and the sound is very good indeed. It might be a good solution for other cartridges which have droopy treble.

Just double checking, before soldering.  I seem to have an extra unrecognised (by me) component in my Genera kit  what is this?

is it surplus, or could you advise where I should put it it tests as approx 0.2ohm

A zero Ohm resistor to bridge over other track paths?
