Looking to clean up my old 12" LPs from 70s until present day.

With no local service near me any feedback and suggestions welcome for purchasing a cleaning machine particularly suction type cleaners and ultrasonic variants.  Have around 400 LPs and budget around £400 ish.

Thanks

I bought my Moth RCM secondhand from Steve on this Forum. A good machine, built like a tank which does a good job but is v noisy. I don't knowwthat there's much difference in results from RCMs, they all work on the same process it's a matter of build quality vs price.
There is a new ultrasonic cleaning machine started selling direct from Hong Kong at a reasonable price. Seems to get pretty good feedback from owners on other forums. Might be worth looking up HumminGuru.  I have no direct experience with ultrasonic cleaners.

Thanks Mike I will check out both the Moth and Humminguru RCMs.

Need to also consider the on going spares availability as well.

£400 should get you a good brush and suck machine. Okki Nokki, Prxjxct, etc.

I've used the Moth RCM for many years and recommend it. I use it with Moth RCM fluid.
The supplied domestic brush was recently replaced with an Analogue Studio goat's hair brush
and this is recommended.
A machine like this is far better than cleaners that use a bath of fluid & brushes but do not
vacuum.

Been using a vac-based machine for years. Will probably try ultrasonic at some point. I've had some US-cleaned LPs from a few sellers before and they were very quiet in the groove.

I moved away from the vac-based approach when my Okki Nokki went wrong and couldn't get it sorted out. I bought an ultrasonic cleaner and feel that it gets equally good results  -  possibly better  -  and is quieter. It is also quicker as it can handle six records at a time, but the one drawback is that it doesn't dry the record after cleaning. I leave them on the machine spindle standing vertically on a towel and turn them occasionally to dry 'naturally'. All-in-all, I prefer the ultrasonic machine.

My machine is an ARC-02 bought from: audiorevita.com
