Well, I'm getting the "not available in US market message". I'll check on another device. Also noticed I've got a good NAB test record with a 3000 Hz 2 minute tone. |

Weird. IIRC the device works without the app, it's just that you get more detailed data and the ability to export it. Might want to contact the maker. ^They've got a YT channel there with some instructions on the SNS. However, if you've already got the NAB test LP and a USB audio interface, you may want to try the WFGUI test software first. Watch the tonearm carefully for side to side movement as it is tracking the test tone. If it moves from side to side at all, that means the record is not properly centered and it will throw off your results.

Thanks all. I've got a Windoze partition and WFGUI set up. Now I need a tonearm. May check with Igor the table designer to see if he thinks this 200mA Slee power supply would work.

A more stable supply rail should help the dc motor stabilise its speed and be immune to mains fluctuations I suggest.. I once had an Ariston with a dc motor and it was okay once it was running. My Gorbe has a dc motor with a power circuit using discrete parts on a circuit board. Prone to overheating till I added heatsinks to the main transistors and inverted the case. I have considered switching to a programmable IC lIke the 317 with a 33/45 switch where one speed preset pot is always in circuit then a second is added in parallel. Never got round to it!

For the moment I've ordered a new wall wart that's not multi-country. I think most of them are 5% tolerance, which is not all that great. Maybe some ferrite chokes and better oil will improve things marginally. |
