I boxed up my SL-DL5 today for storage after re-reading the service manual. It was an impulse buy not long after I got my SL-7 and has worked fine from day one. Yes it is cruder than the SL-7 I had or the SL-DL1 I got later, more plastic without the optical size/speed sensors and the muting relay is part of the linear tracking carriage, but it is a solid piece of kit.
