First off hello all I have just joined the forum. So I am using my on board phono stage of my Quad Vena 2 amp. It seemed to do ok but now I have upgraded to a Rega P7 and Roscan Corus Black cart it seems to struggle with all the info the deck is sending the phono stage. My Quad S5 towers speakers seem to have Info missing and distorted on some records. So looking at phono stages thinking of the Gold. Any thoughts or words of wisdom ??

Where are you based?
The loan scheme would let you borrow one for two weeks to try it.

Yes, it is pretty good. But with a high end MM cartridge, you may be better with something higher up the range.

Hi Grinch,
I'm sure you've already checked it - but do make sure the cartridge is correctly aligned. Rega tend to dismiss VTA but it's well worth checking it as it can affect tracking ability. Some used records have groove damage which can sound distorted. The Era is a good unit - try a loan one & a ReflexM if you can.
