I am so excited. I've ordered the Accession MC version. Now the difficult part is the wait. I used the Revelation M through the loaner program using a Ortofon 2M Black cartridge. I will be moving up to a Ortofon Cadenza Bronze.
I was comparing the Rev to a Sutherland Insight at first, then a Sutherland 20/20. I did not see an improvement with the Insight over the Rev and expected the 20/20 to destroy it. Although I thought the 20/20 gave me more clarity and enjoyment over the Rev, it was only slightly. That made me think 2 things:
1)If the Accession is superior to the Rev, then that must (hopefully) mean that I should be happy with it vs the 20/20. 2)The Accession (with discount and ordering direct) is significantly less expensive than the 20/20. So even if the 20/20 is slightly ahead of the Accession, the difference in price, size, and the ability to adust load settings without removing the cover are all benefits. Hoping I'm making accurate inferences. I guess i will find out soon enough. Now, for the wait :) |

Hi Rob,
Even more Painful wait is, once John send you the Shipment tracking and suddenly the days get longer than usual. I use my Accession (MM) + Elevator Exp with Cadenza Bronze, It sounds Sublime. As you already know, The burn-in for the phono is another long painful wait. Once its done you will have many more listening hours. Looking forward to hear about your experience with the Accession MC. Congrats on your purchase. |

I’ve joined the queue! Accession MC ordered and paid for. The Reflex M & EXP combo has been fantastic and I’m very much looking forward to the next step!
And now I wait... Mick.

Sutherland products are virtually unknown over here in the UK as they don't seem to have
any distribution. The Accession MC should suit the Cadenza Bronze superbly - it is a great match with the Blue. |

Mick, have you received your Accession yet? I am very curious to hear about the difference between it and the Reflex.

Not yet, but in possession of the Australian loan scheme Accession MC. Compared to the Reflex M/Elevator EXP it replaced, it’s got a more expansive soundstage, better dynamics, and more focus. I suspect all of those things are mostly down to the better control and depth in the bass, and the clean midrange. However, it’s also better at showing the difference in recording from record to record. Bright ones sound bright, warm ones sound warm - that’s got to mean more transparency to the source and less of imposing its own sound on everything.
But, how much is that down to one less box and one less pair of interconnects? It’s been in for a week now and really sounded nothing like itself for the first four days. Indeed, when first plugged in it had no bass, a thick midrange and no treble extension! It’s why the loan scheme is so great, I suppose. This unit has a PSU1, so I’m looking forward to learning what the Enigma will bring. But honestly, since day four, I’m just listening to music in a really happy fashion. Accession MC straight into the Proprius monoblocks, on to the PMC’s. Fantastic colour, dynamics and transparency. Music comes out. What more could you ask for? Mick.
