just thought I’d update you on the Gram Amp SE. Coming up to 3 works burn in now. Boy has this thing come to life. It’s a big upgrade from the integral phono stage.

Pleased !!

Welcome.

The nice thing about the PSU-1 is that if you later decide to upgrade your GS preamp (e.g. to an Era Gold or Reflex, for example), you can use the PSU-1 with the new unit.

For me the PSU-1 noticeably reduced noise in my system and I'm glad I did the upgrade.

With regard to the PSU1, it is worth it once you have done other system upgrades. A lot depends on the quality of your mains power to begin with and the improvement is less noticeable than getting a new cartridge or amp.

I have a general goal of getting the best I can out of everything so that inevitably leads to upgrades in power and cables.

Thanks for the welcome.

I was bought up on vinyl and had my first turntable in the early 80's. Like a lot of others I switched to CD's and sold quite a lot of my records. Luckily for me I kept about 50 vinyls that meant something.

2 years ago I bought a Rega Planar 3 for my 50th with the Brio amp and Dynaudio speakers. Ok basis setup.

Spent most of the last 18 months digging for vinyl.

Caught the upgrade bug and switched the platter and sub platter for Groovetracer. I have just recently changed the tonearm for a Funk Firm FXR-II and put the Boing isolating feet on. Now the Gram Amp SE.

New cartridge next - Im switched to a Rega Exact last year - think I might go AT VM750 next.

Perhaps should have just gone a bought a Rega P8 or equivalent but Ive enjoyed the journey and am happy with the sound.

Whats the scoop on the PSU1 - is it really worth it ?

Hi Glenn

My first Graham Slee product was the Gram Amp 2SE, when it looked looked like this.

It served me proud for many years, and now resides with one of my best and oldest friends.
Excellent sounding bit of kit.
You'll get many years of satisfying sound out of it.

Hi Glenn,

Welcome to the community !

I see that you have Dynaudio Speakers. I recently bought a pair of Xeo 2's for my desktop system - got a great deal since they have been discontinued. Really nice speakers although they seem to take a long time to break-in.
