Picked up Bill Evans Inner Spirit. Very good sound quality for a live recording although not much stereo separation. Actually sounds cool with mono switched on my accession.
Really enjoyable music recorded in 1979 near the end of his life.

And when I say "gets sold" I mean at full price because I know a lot of RSD stuff is discounted afterwards because the shops were forced to have it and now can't sell it.
One of the record shops I go to had stuff for sale after RSD discounted several mouths after the day and I'm talking nigh on a year.

I know some people go just to see if there is anything worth having, Me I don't see the point as it was being advertised anyway. Like it was said on this post, the music industry gears up for one day with stuff you don't wont or wouldn't normally buy and all this means is the artists that has something worth buying can't get it released because the pressing plants are over worked for one day in the year. I would like to know how much of what's for sale on RSD actually gets sold?

In the last couple of years the amount of dross shoved out for RSD I finally reached the point where I replied 'meh' when my wife pointed out it was RSD at the weekend.
I might browse the leftover buckets at Revo Records in HFX when I am next there or or the few in MCR. Edited by ServerBaboon - 26 Apr 2022 at 2:55pm |

I was kinda interested in the Art Pepper release, and more so with regards to the Blur Bustin’ and Dronin’, but missed out at my local store. I’ve just double checked and the flipper prices on the Blur release aren’t obscene… But, still, there is the principle of the thing.

Well record store day passed me by I didn't even remember it, it was on Saturday. I remember reading what was coming out for it but nothing took my fancy. Anyone buy anything?

I think the Rick album was a dollar bin record here a few years ago, then he had a bit of a career comeback due to the whole "rickrolling" meme or whatever. I'm not trying to bash the guy's music or anything even though it's not what I'd typically listen to. That album sold A LOT of copies, even over here. No need for a reissue except to cash in. I wonder how many people buy that because they like it vs. being in on some kind of ironic joke? The Proclaimers album I have seen far more often on CD over here. It's very common in used bins, or at least used to be. The price on that thing is ridiculous. Converted to USD that's around $74 which is more expensive than a 45rpm double LP from Analogue Productions.
