This is my preferred method. I have a Cadenza Bronze so the body will be identical to the Blue. Fitting on my OL arm is somewhat fiddly so I use a pair of Tweezerman Point Tweezers to remove/connect the tags, gripping the rear of the insulation material where it tapers.

Glad someone's mentioned tweezers Smile.
The soldered joint where the fairy's pube wire meets the cartridge tags is the weak point.
It's almost like an audiophile's penance....

I found that straight tweezers from a craft shop can be bent with pliers around a thin bolt/screw to get a better grip on the tag with less squeezing force. I second Richard's advice about avoiding the solder joint when sliding the tags off the cartridge pins and not pulling the fine tone arm wires out.

Thanks for everyone's advice on this.
I've postponed the job until I can get hold of a decent illuminated magnifier & suitable tweezers.
My eyesight & steadiness of hand are not what they were & I think removing the arm from the
deck might be the best way in my situation to tackle the job to gain best access to the tags.

I can certainly relate to that.

Over the past couple of years each time a cartridges has been replaced it's more challenging than the last due to changes in both eyesight and finger dexterity.

In fact got a letter from the DVLA at the weekend advising my driving licence is soon to expire...Confused

Having just ordered an Accession MC I hope the ears don't go down the same path anytime soon!

Indeed. I bought a magnifier lamp in Maplin (sob!) for £30 some years ago and it's been very helpful for cleat light and occasional zoom function on small print, wires, etc.

Eventually got round to doing this & it was much easier than feared using a magnifier & fine tweezers
with the arm in place on the turntable. Nothing broken.
Cartridgeman Music Master now installed & sounding exceptionally good into Accession.Thumbs Up
