High folks

Have any of you LP12 owners gone down the route of replacing the springs for soldid bobbins?

Kinda like the idea as it means you can use a record clamp/weight to correct warped records.

Mine sits on a wall shelf & the floor is concrete so I’m thinking that I don’t really need springs.

Any advice guys?

To some this will be heresy, but here goes.
If the LP12 is so good, why are so many upgrades/improvements available? Wink
Just go for the Technics.

Ian

OK, that's me off to the naughty step for a while.

Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

To be fair it's a lovely warm sound if hard work to setup. I've always preferred the look of the Gyrodec which has easily accessed springs, although I discovered that I preferred the sound I got from using the Orbe platter. And I agree with Ian about the Technics deck, they work well with little fussing.

Forgive my ignorance but other than arm & cartridge alignment if one did away with the springs, what else is there to set up??
