Not as imagined - worthwhile having photo.
These appear more like the 'shorties' rather than the caps.. |

I'm a born sceptic and I really can't see the logic or benefit of what you're doing. The reason for the RCA caps is to maintain the integrity of the Faraday cage created by a contiguous grounded metal case, thereby minimising RF interference. In my view, extending the inner or "live" conductor beyond the case has the effect of creating small aerials and possibly introducing RF rather than excluding it.
Is the "audible difference" an improvement or just different? Ian |

Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

If the intention is to electromagnetically isolate unused inputs on the back of an audio device such as a Majestic DAC, to stop them acting as small antennae, then maybe first start with a cheap small FM radio that has a telescopic aerial and practice coating it in different materials until it can no longer playback a radio station. The "blocker" would have to be electrically isolated from the aerial but conductive/inductive to absorb the amplitude of the EM signals.

Your point re FM radio does have some merit it presumably would be limited to FM frequencies only and not those well outside (wifi or mobiles) which may require different filtering?

Sound feedback from the radio may give audible information about what is an effective blocker. Even Graham himself has said something along the lines of that the radio band is the biggest culprit of electronic interference because of its ubiquitous use around the planet and large range from the source. Even the Lautus interconnects are tuned specifically to target the biggest culprit EM radiation (~100MHz region??) of the radio band as it is the most prevalent therefore blocking it out as much as possible should have the most audible effect.
