Very good tip. I used to write html in Notepad to avoid picking up printcodes!

Just done a recent post by Richard. The big culprit is inverted commas - "double" or 'single' - shown correctly here; but if done in Word or similar you will often get hieroglyphics in place of the quotation marks. Extremely exasperating!

I sometimes prepare a post using the Apple notes programme & it always results in crapola formatting so I have to remember to re-edit anything other than basic text, full stops or commas before posting. Frustratingly, preview does not show this up so I invariably post, miss something and then have to edit.

Wow, managing a web site from a phone!

No, maybe Richard posts using his phone, but this website is managed on a full desktop.

If you directly write anything longer than a few sentences into the online "create" function of your web site authoring tool, it's generally good practice to first write your text into a simple text editor, e.g Scratchpad or Wordpad, and save it on your PC as a text file.

Once you have your text content complete and done any editing to refine it, paste it into your web authoring tool then do all your formatting / links / graphics.

I think you're using Bootstrap but the same good practice applies to all the other online tools (Wordpress, Joomla, etc.).

Once bitten, twice shy, I hope.
