Yes, I saw this the other day, Ifor. I thought, at first - "they don't even know which way a record should spin" LOL.

It's a novel concept for the lifestyle crowd. A bit like those vertical TTs with a pivoted arm. A talking point for your dinner parties.

Re-inventing the turntable?
Hmmm, interesting, but the dedicated use of an AT95 cartridge brings into question whether the designer has any interest in genuine high quality vinyl replay.
Not that the AT95 isn't a good cartridge, just that most would regard it as entry level.
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

Maybe, if it takes off, they'll end up offering options. It does seem to be a more serious proposition than some of the recent novelty offerings.

I see that it claims some perceived advantages including linear tracking and reducing dust susceptibility.
Nonetheless it remains that it is a belt drive turntable with only periphal support for the disc so resonance could be a problem.
It seems to solve problems that we don't have.
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

No-one is going to reasonably expect this to produce high quality sound - are they? While more people playing records is a generally good thing, mediocre results will give those considering getting on the bandwagon totally the wrong impression.

Probably lo-fi with issues but clever nonetheless & I like to see people thinking 'outside the box'.

As it uses a cartridge from an AT 'family' I guess other & higher quality styli would probably fit - whether that would be a benefit is another matter of course Confused
Older than I once was, younger than I'll be
