I'm currently using a M-Audio Delta 1010LT, to rip my vinyl with XLR calbes.
I'm interested in something like the RME HDSPe AIO or the Babyface Pro.

I read somewhere that you don't want to use USB cables because it degrades the sound, so you want to use only audio cables (I don't know if that is true or not).

So my question is do you get better sound quality by using a PCIe sound card, apposed to a USB break-out-box?

Thanks Gary.

My understanding, Gary, is that internal PC soundcards operating in the noisy environment of the computer perform less well than "external" devices (other things being equal). I've always used USB connected ADCs - first an M-Audio Transit USB and now a Lexicon I-O 22.

If you use a good USB cable (like Graham's Lautus USB) you should get excellent rips.
