I'm after a bit of advice as to the recommended resister values for an L pad to attenuate the output of my CD player connected to my amp to bring it more in line with the turntable volume.
The stated line level impedance is 100k ohms ( Yarland Pro 88 valve amp) and I think -10db should do the trick.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers
Graham

IEC 61968 expects to see a maximum load of 22k ohms which gives us a starting point. -10dB is roughly 1/3rd of the signal and attenuators are calculated as 1/(Rin/Rload) + 1.

You could try 22k/10k or 15k/8k2.
That none should be able to buy or sell without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

Thanks Graham. You are a legend.
22/10 is what I figured as a starting point but needed confirmation before I fired up the soldering iron.
Cheers
