Okay, I've been listening to the Accession for a few weeks now, albeit not as much as I would have liked due to various commitments getting in the way.

In the end I decided to put the Accession in the Thorens/Nagaoka MP200 system first - my thinking being I then had another upgrade to come later when I use it with the Cartridgeman MM3 cartridge Tongue

I let it run in, unplayed, for over a week.  However, my first listen was not in ideal circumstances - I was feeling quite tired - but keen to hear having read all the reviews on this excellent forum !

I havent kept detailed notes but what struck me - first impressions if you like - were the naturalness of the percussion and piano.  Then, as often happens when I'm listening to music whilst a bit tired - I started to drift off to sleep a bit.  Normally I would drift away until the music ends.  But then something amazing happened - the sheer quality and presentation from the Accession suddenly bought me up to fully awake and appreciating the music Big smile HugClap

Wow.

The word that sprung to mind was - compelling.

Anyway, I've listened to about 10 LP's since then - awake this time LOL - and can say I love this baby!

Rgds

Maybe just me that thought of the Point Break or Bad Boys question in Hot Fuzz. So how did your two systems fare with the Accession Richie?

Agree, just make sure the main volume control is also turned right down. Don' forget the turntable earth, if it has one. When connected switch to the Accession input and increase volume slowly.

Happy Listening
Ian
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

No though make sure your main amp isn't presenting a live input to speakers.

Accession has landed !  Tongue

I've plugged it in and it's nicely warming up while I am busy with several days worth of DIY (deep joy).

Quick question - should I "power down" ** when connecting/disconnecting from the signal inputs/outputs at the back ?    I don't want to damage any internals, obviously.

Rgds

Richie

** i.e. pull the PSU plug out of the wall socket.
