The K702 comes closer to the K701 after some times of "burning in" (more than 100 hours) but a little difference remains - this depends from music. I am very snoopy for a possible K701 follower, .... .... I hope it comes next year. Edited by FritzS - 12 Dec 2008 at 5:01pm |

K701s and K702s sound different. K702s are more neutral and transparent. I don't think K701s can be called netrual headphones.

AKG did a fine job on the new color scheme. Frederick, I look forward to you logging a few hundred hours on your new K702 and your impressions.

From what I have read the K702 only changed the color and the method of attaching the cable. Any improvements could be explained if they have changed the housing, cable material, dampening, etc.
Will wait for more impressions as the K702 burns in.

So you are saying that the K702 are different from the K701 in sound ? I got the impression that they were just a different colour and had a detachable cord. Interesting if they do have a different sound. I am listening to Mahlers arrangements of Schumann 2 & 4 ATM on K701 |
