Yes, in those days Rune was definitely better than Volumio. Rune was supported and Volumio seemed to have died. I swapped back to Volumio a few months ago because I was finding Rune to be unstable (the Pis would become unresponsive even though Fing showed them to be up on the network) and development has been stalled for well over a year. I found that Volumio had moved on hugely, is well supported and stable. My only reason for wanting something different is the lack of Consume Mode in the last three versions of Volumio. I've now got a of twin SD card adaptor for each Pi so I can switch simply between two operating systems.

I too prefer the Volumio UI to the MoOde UI; probably because I want simplicity without the wish to tinker too much.

Yes it does. Select the downward arrow below the volume dial on the playback screen.

Quote from Tim:
The Auto-shuffle feature works by selecting a random track from the music collection, adding it to the end of the main Playlist then removing it from the Playlist immediately after it finishes. This keeps the Playlist from growing :-)

After turning on Auto-shuffle in System config, click the "Random" button on the Playback panel. You will also see the "Consume mode" button automatically enable.

Auto-shuffle eliminates the need to add huge numbers of tracks to the Playlist for random play :-)
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

PI B+ and HiBerry DAC
I have moved backwards and forth from Rune to Volumio and both have worked well with the Flac files I store on my network HDD. I haven't found much to choose between them but both, as far as I know, can't play the BBC DAB hi res streams, please tell me how if I am wrong.

I am unfamiliar with Mo0de, Does that offer something better?

If memory serves me correctly, BBC did some changes to their DAB hi res streaming recently and caused issues for all sorts of company's streamers, including ones that had just been launched by people who sit on digital broadcasting committees with the Beeb (N**M for one)

Hello Peter,
A list of the supported radio stations can be found on the front page of the moode website.  From the list;
  1. BBC 320K Asian Network
  2. BBC 320K Radio 1
  3. BBC 320K Radio 2
  4. BBC 320K Radio 3
  5. BBC 320K Radio 4 FM
  6. BBC 320K Radio 5 live extra sports
  7. BBC 320K Radio 5 live
  8. BBC 320K Radio 6 music
DAB refers to a radio standard - I'm not sure that it has any bearing on Internet streaming.

I recently moved to MoOde (form Volumio) following comments in this thread and have been very happy with it.

Kind regards

James
