Would like to try a pair of Audio Note, even the smaller AN-J with the Proprius. they seem to be efficient highly dynamic speakers, though not to everyone's taste.

Various bits of GSP Kit ..well two so far, unless you count the cables that is.

Dragging this thread back up....

I am tempted by a 2nd hand pair of GB1i speakers, but for a few hundred pounds more, I could get some Proac D18 speakers.
Is there anything not to like about the PMC GB1i?

How much space do they need to breathe properly?

Or if you're feeling really adventurous, try http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Diy_Loudspeaker_Projects.htm
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

Although I have not purchased a speaker kit from them, I use IPL midrange drivers & tweeters in my own Open Baffles. They do sound fabulous - the Al/Mg M5a's give very fast, clean transients & the NeoCD30 ribbons are extended and smooth

Ivor Leslie is very helpful and knowledgeable and others also speak very highly of the finished results with his kits

Admittedly I'm totally biased, but I love my GB1i speakers! I have mine about 12 inches out from the wall and they sound great. In conjunction with the Proprius/Spatia the sound is deep, detailed, smooth, full bodied and with a soundstage extending way beyond the speakers with the right recordings. I paid £750 for my pair and along with GSP kit they represent the best value I've found in over 40 years of hi-fi purchases.

This is, by all reports, a speaker in a different class to any of the others mentioned above.</span>

I reckon you'll love the Fact.8s Phil. My lowly Gb1i speakers sound great with the Proprius so I'd expect the 8s to sound awesome . . . Wink</span>

I realise this an old thread but for anyone who has not read my other related post, I can confirm, having listened to Phil's system just a few days ago, that the Fact8s really do sound superb!
