I'm glad to read that you are not disappointed.
I have heard that Jeff builds a stunning arm. It's one reason I am tempted to get a 2nd deck. Just to have an Audiomods arm of my own.

Thanks for the great description and pics. It certainly has sparked my interest in these arms. Hope you get some more "time" with it before you are travelling with work again.
Cheers

There is a full week of listening before travelling again and back just in time for my annual Glastonbury fix from the 24th. Equally pleasurable of course

I just had a brief interlude to listen to a CD on my Majestic, a month old now and sounding fabulous too. Now back to vinyl for what looks like a very late Sunday night....

Congratulations on your Audiomods - they are superb arms.
Owning a 'Classic' - the series 4 based on the older Rega armtube I can vouch for the
stunning quality & value of Jeff Spall's work.
I don't have the micrometer version but VTA is still easily adjustable & is so much better
than the hassle of spacers.
I've found the arm lower mechanism works very smoothly but one tiny gripe is that the alloy
arm rest holds the arm a little too gently!
Enjoy your series V Thumbs Up
Majestic/Enigma, Accession MM & MC.

Jeff has emailed me this, so it doesn't look like there will be a detachable option....

"I can’t really make a detachable headshell version because the arm tube is cast one piece.I’ve been working towards a 12” version but even with that the headshell will be a fixed part because it makes a more rigid structure which performs and measures much better."

Also, regarding the arm lift....

"The arm lifts are the latest Rega ones. About a year ago they had to change the design because the supply of the original grease was discontinued and the first new ones that came out were incredibly stiff – needing too much force to be useable on a suspended deck like Linn. I think they might have over-compensated with the current ones, I have a big box of them and they’re all the same. The action just relies on the clearance of the piston and the new grease, so there isn’t any adjustment. There is a small spring inside that could be removed, I’ll experiment and let you know.
Regards, Jeff "

Thanks Bob, Kevin and both Rich's - it's like having a new music collection all over again (similarly with the Majestic & CDs - spouse, sleep & sustenance are bound to suffer Ermm)
