Can't beat "Supper's Ready" from Foxtrot!
That none should be able to buy or sell without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

For me, in this order: Selling England by The Pound, Foxtrot, Nursery Cryme, Trick Of The Tail, Trespass. I was never a real fan of The Lamb Lies Down although others rate it as the best. Phil Collins era Genesis is just 'different', more pop than prog

There is a nice triple CD set (around £15) called the Platinum Collection which gives you a very good selection, starting with the later stuff and getting better (my opinion) as it progresses back to the earlier albums

The Firth Of Fifth is stunning and as Graham knows, Suppers Ready has it all. The flute section in the former and the finale of the latter get the hairs on my neck every time Wacko. They are both in this collection too

Cheers Andrew
yes I should have stipulated early genesis before their music went down the pan(phil Collins)I used to own Trespass and thought it was a good album but I have never heard a lot of their early stuff
(I am only forty years too late, better late than never)Will check out the albums you mention
                      Once again thanks

Given your comments Stuart, Trick Of The Tail is a fabulous album but the first after Peter Gabriel departed so Phil Collins is on vocals all the way through. It still has Steve Hackett though, as does Wind & Wuthering. It's really after these two that things changed dramatically
