another new ultrasonic cleaner tested in hi fi choice? Kirmuss think It is called and more reasonably likely reasonably priced than most

I can't read anything into Mr Fremer's "review". He only reiterates manufacturers claims and infers that a review will be forthcoming after testing/use. We might all agree that sticky residue on records is not a good thing, but is that research or common sense?
Whilst there are claims of research into the various methods of cleaning, fluids and ultrasonic propagation and frequencies I see no documented evidence on any of their websites. Research is a much abused term. Ian |

Richard ultrasonically cleaned a couple of my records recently & results are very positive.
One record cleaned is 30+ years old & apart from a few minor clicks, only noticeable between tracks, it sounds almost like new. Agree with Richard that sonics improve - definitely a more natural & detailed sound with an improvement in instrumental timbre, imaging etc. Both of these had been on a Moth RCM some time in the past so were not particularly grubby. Thanks to Richardl60 for a very interesting demo of U/S cleaning capabilities. |
