[QUOTE=Suggs] I agree on the Richard Thompson musically, but to me it's a really poor sounding LP and only slightly betters the CD...apparently the vinyl master was cut from a digital file, despite being recorded in analogue..doh! Record companies, don't you just love'em? Angry

Yes, Suggs, I suppose I must concur about the quality; not as good as some other recent (re-)releases. On a Richard Thompson theme I guess my favourite (and a strong recommendation) would be the 'Live from Austin Tx' double album on the 'NewWestRecords' label. I also have a Norah Jones double album on this label/in this series and I guess there might be others available. They are pressed on very heavyweight vinyl and the recording quality, bearing in mind that they are live performances, is particularly good.

Here are a few of my favorites, mostly oldies but goodies except Raining Sands which I think won the Grammy in 2018. I find these sound really good with Graham's Accession phono Amp.Smile
Beatles Red Album and Blue Album, Miles Davis..We want Miles and Bitches Brew, Raining Sand, Carol King's Tapestry, U2's WAR and Bob Seger's Live Bullet. All quality recordings some remastered others just old. Currently listening to John Lennon's Remember and it is awesome.

I bought Paul Carrack 'A Different Hat' with the Royal Philharmonic at his concert just before we were all locked up. Priceless. Absolutely brilliant LP. It's criminal most people say who?

My daughters getting the Bowie at Glastonbury LP set for her birthday. I've heard the production on the record has had some dubious reviews, she'll love it though!

I've been all over the Clay Pipe Music record label since the pandemic began. Limited releases on coloured vinyl (and sometimes cassette) with lovely artwork. A mix of electronic / folk / library music sounds. Particular highlights have been Jon Brooks' "How to get to Spring" and Gilroy Mere's "Adlestrop".
It's all been giving the new Gram Amp 2 SE a run out.
