I have been finding myself growing bored with the Senn HD650 played through a Solo SRG II. I see that the HD600s can be picked up for 280GBP while the Beyerdynamics DT880 are avalaible for around the same sort of price.  I wonder does anyone have any thoughts of the respective merits of these headphones or wether there is something else I ought to be considering, other than Gerados which I find uncomptable,  upfront and lacking in bass

Never liked the HD650. Found HD600 far better.

Me too, also the older DT880 250 ohm circa 2003 sounds better than the newer DT880 model. IMO of course.

This head-fi post maybe of interest . The reviewer looked at 50 sets with a number of amps and configurations. Very comprehensive.
