Graham,

Any news on the release date of the Proprius?

Am I right in thinking that input is via a balanced jack? 'Scuse my total ignorance of this, but I assume this is a quarter inch "stereo" jack?

How would you connect the unbalanced output of a pre-amp to it? Would it simply be a question of getting a phono to XLR adaptor, and then using an XLR to jack balanced cable?

Lastly, such a setup could also take the output of a DAC or unbalanced phono amp directly, using the Proprius' volume control - presumably?

Thanks!
Bob

Single or Mono format would be more convenient for a multichannel setup, which would be a nice setup for me.

Will the configuration still be "dual mono" if combined into a single chassis?

The Proprius' are awesome. I tried them with different bookshelf speakers and some small floorstanders, and they perform well.  For a pair of amps of this size, they are an audiophile miracle.

My experience too! What speakers did you use with the Proprius?

I'm saving up to hopefully be able to get an Aria and a pair of Proprius blocks all in one when the Aria is finally completed and put on the market. Presuming they'll come in a bundle as they're natural complements to each other.
Although I'm also tempted at maybe getting a real quality piece turntable first. I saw a vintage one from Acoustic Research, with an SME 3009 fitted, for sale that at least looked the business. But I have no idea of how good it sounds. Anyone have any experience with vintage AR turntables?

Hope this is the right place to post this. I am not technical and have a query about the Proprius. It uses a switch-mode power supply and, having had a pair of amps on loan, I can confirm that the power packs are extremely well-made and that the sound of the amps is simply stunning. However, I was wondering about the decision to use a switch-mode supply. On other forums, these supply often get a bad press and, especially with Class T and D amps, there is a view that a replacement 'stiff' linear supply greatly improves the sound. I understand that an internal power supply would make the Proprius too big and costly but would there be an improvement in sound quality/performance if an external linear supply replaced the switch-mode units?

This query is raised for my own personal interest as someone who has no technical knowledge and is in no means a criticism of the Proprius - I'm saving up to buy a pair!!
Shaun.

The Proprius sound fantastic with the switched mode power supply.
One of the things why we probably have switched mode power supplies is probably the development cost and testing of a linear power supply, and the switched mode works just fine!
