Hello all,

I'll soon be needing a digital interconnect, so of course I've been doing a bit of reading on the internet to see what's what. I'm no wiser, I feel like I've actually lost some knowledge rather than gained it so that's why I'm here cos I know you're all sensible. Smile

Firstly, I'd need a cable that's BNC on the dac side and RCA on the transport side. I believe a digital cable is ideally aiming for 75 Ohm impedance but I'm wondering how that may be influenced by the RCA plugs and BNC adapter that would be required if I used Graham's CuSat50 or Lautus cables? Is this something that would impact the quality of the connection or should I not worry about this?

Second thing - is the length of the cable important? 1.5m seems to be suggested by some to 'stop reflections' - again, thoughts or experiences would help to bring me a step closer to making an actual decision!

Cheers, Tim.

I run a 6 metre Lautus around a door frame from Bitzie SPDIF to Majestic SPDIF input, and it suits me fine for subjective product testing.
That none should be able to buy or sell without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

I replaced a 2m [hifi magazine advertiser] with a 3m Lautus. The music sounded much better and it saved me stretching!

Thank you for your replies Graham and Jon, I guess as with most things in the world of audio the only answer is to try it for yourself - less reading and more experimentation!
