Rim Drive Rega - driving a Rega Planar 3 with off-board motor

Just for a laugh . . . or could it be for some other reason?? Wink

Anyway, according to the strobe disc it keeps perfect time.

Very good and I like the lab clamps. Graham you make this stuff seem easy and I know it isn't because I've tried it too! Is that a LM 317 on the PCB by any chance driving the Maxon (?) dc motor?

Just doing a favour for an old friend in the industry. It all started around 5 years ago, but I didn't have much time to research it. No it isn't a voltage regulator -- there was too much speed drift using those. It is based on the circuits used for good old reel to reel which were able to keep time without much fuss.

Not teasing but trying to tease out interest which so far seems rather thin.
