Hello all,

I've spent a good deal of time perusing this forum over the last couple of weeks and the good nature, genuine enthusiasm and authoritative advice displayed here is heartwarming indeed, why can't everywhere on the internet be like this?

So why am I hear? Having taken voluntary redundancy, and looked out over the bleak, frozen tundra that is the post-COVID economy, I thought, why not spend a fair percentage of that redundancy money on upgrading my hifi! Seems like the most prudent course of action right? Thumbs Up

First step has been taken (a new old stock Origin Live Resolution has replaced my venerable Rega P25), but a system is only as strong as it's weakest link, and now everything below my TT is a weak link. LOL

The accession is high on my want list, and was what brought me here initially (Although I'm now curious about the potential of the Proprius amplification in the context of what will be an all vinyl analogue system.

Anyway, I have many questions on various subjects but will try to find relevant threads in which to insert them.

Thanks in advance for all the advice!

Accession into Proprius would be beastly and would be my objective if I were a vinyl enthusiast.
We do not see things as they are. We see things as we are.

Yeah, It's not an option I'd considered before but it makes sense, why pay for the facilities of an integrated amp when I don't need them.
Am I right in thinking that the Accession would perform as a 'passive' preamp? The whole active vs passive preamp debate seems, from what I know (which admittedly isn't much), to be a bit of a contentious issue.

Welcome to the forum Danny,
The Accession is a phono stage amplifier with both fixed and variable outputs. I don't think it should be considered "passive".
Either of the outputs can be used to feed the Proprius power amps, just depends where you want to control the volume as the Proprii have their own volume controls. Makes a nice vinyl only playback system. Add a Majestic DAC if you want both a digital input pre-amp and vinyl playback.

Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

It's a forum like few others, isn't it? Welcome !

And what better way to support the economy than to upgrade some hi-fi... Big smile

Seriously though, if you're able, then I'd encourage you to go for it. I was in a similar position about five years ago, having been left a legacy. As I was approaching retirement it was then or never.
