There is a company called Widex that offers special hearing aids for musicians and people like that. Unfortunately I would assume they are extremely expensive. Believe it or not they were reviewed in one of the hi-fi magazines. I am lucky that my hearing is still pretty good. I don't wish hearing problems on anyone. Best of luck to OP in solving the issue.

Just wanted to say I have nothing at all against EQ and tone controls. I do like to see a "direct mode" where one can bypass them if one chooses.

I have NHS Oticon Synergy hearing aids (both ears) and whilst I have setting 2 programmed by audiology for music basically they've backed off some levels, (what was that....tone controls 😇), and it helps a great deal. I also find that setting 1 which is selected when the aids are turned on may whistle or shriek when listening to music on the radio, I simply turn the volume down one notch and it stops the offensive shrieking, it's not as good as setting 2 but ok for listening to the radio .
Don't understand why audiology are being difficult the computer programme means it takes seconds to adjust and might mean a couple of visits over a month or so, at my local hospital they're brilliant can't be more helpful.
