But we are lucky to have Rob, who I first met more than 25 years ago, and coincidentally is a friend of John C, and owns a Sheffield engineering company, and is going to a lot of trouble and actually buying machinery to do the job for us. I have noticed over the years that helpful folk are your own folk, me being half from Chesterfield, John being from Sheffield, same with Rob; not forgetting Leo from Mansfield, and Phil from Chesterfield who commissioned us to make two. And then there is our wider community (this place) who I see as our own folk.

Anyway, here's what Rob drew up today...

That's great! It's good to see that John's friend Rob is finally involved. Hopefully he will be able to work on the casing for any future Slee projects. As was stated earlier I'm sure the PSU (to be used unlike Squeezebox Touch) will be well worth waiting for.

Some of you may be interested to know that I have decided to buy the PSU 1 Enigma for one of my Majestic's after having trialled it for a few weeks. I believe it to be worth the money. Fortunately my wife Lesley has been very understanding about the costs!

Thank you Lesley! Smile

Rob just told me he is hoping to have a bare metal prototype case ready by the end of next week.

As soon as it passes the tests the original prototype passed, we will look into finishes and local metal finishing companies Rob knows of. Not forgetting a screen printer.

Excellent news and a purposeful looking case. Moving forward, as they say.
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

Let the build begin!

A pre-production unit will be built and then if OK, the type of finish and graphics will be decided and applied to a small production batch.

And a kit version will be considered.

That's a purposeful looking case. Might I ask what size it is?
