Has anyone played around with binaural audio recording and playback? What about HRTFs - is this for real or only for the most discerning ear?

Binaural - two mics arranged as if they're ears (crossed), basically - sounds great for headphone listening but not so for speakers. Head related transfer function has been studied and used for headphone crossfeed. Some like it, some don't. Much depends on how old your ears are - mine must be too old Wink
That none should be able to buy or sell without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

What do you think about companies like Hooke Audio? Seems like smartphones will soon be able to record (and playback) binaural recordings - does this mean that "high-end" audio could be had on our mobile phones in the near future? Or will it just be a case of software interpreting audio poorly?

Has anyone in the forum tested out the OSSIC headphones yet - any feedback there?
