It's time for me to pack up the 7eventy this week to pass on to Jon (Fatmangolf). It has been a most interesting time listening to the amp for the past few weeks. I've had it connected in my system the same as my Proprius with the exception of using phono interconnects from the Majestic and some pretty ordinary speaker cables, not GS. In my hurry to listen, I didn't let the amp warm up properly and I have to say my immediate impressions were a little dissapointed, lacking top end.  I should have waited (!). Given 24hrs it was clear the amp delivers plenty of smooth sound, no exaggerated frequencies. The previous tester, Ian (BacktoBlack), described it to me as having typical Slee 'musical' sound. I have to agree, this is an excellent description.  I thought that maybe it is more laid back, doesn't have the speed of the Proprius (if this amateur description makes sense) but that is 70s for you.  The best I would say is that I'd be very pleased to have the 7eventy in my system, if it wasn't for the Proprius.
On to you Jon to take over at the end of the week.

ah..!!! the sound of transistors of late 60's and 70's ...warm and melodious and full of emotional charged musicality but then the mid and late heavy Rock changed the characteristic tone of transistors to cater for the new era ....Proprius for the faster rhythmic cd'S  of the late 90's and Transistors for the Cassette tape and Vinyl of the golden 70's .

Mike kindly dropped off the 7eventy amp yesterday. I just unpacked it and put it on a low shelf between my speakers. Plugged in and power on for the amp to warm up. I like the illuminated bias meters but it's going to be seen but not heard till tomorrow when I shall connect my Magnepans
